Rules

The Rules of the Small Claims Court, O. Reg. 258/98 prescribe the technical rules for the service of documents within a Small Claims Court proceeding.  The Rules vary depending upon which type of document is being served and sometimes vary depending on the type of party that the document is being served upon such as whether the document is being served upon an individual person or a corporate entity.  Some documents, may be served by regular mail, other documents may be served by registered mail, and other documents must be served personally, meaning directly upon the recipient.
